Location: Vienna · Austria
Client: IES IMMOBILIEN
Design team: HBLA, StudioVlayStreeruwitz, Con.Sens, IPJ Ingenieurbüro,
Surface: 21 hectares

One of Vienna’s most promising area on the banks of the Danube river, the DonauMarina is in disuse. Composed with a variety of underused structures and lacking connections to the river, the site however bears some key qualities to highlight. Lined with the river on one side and the Prater, large urban forest and main natural feature of the city, on the other, it appears essential to draw the future neighborhood’s overall composition while creating a structural network of public spaces
HBLA is working on the design of the overall landscape masterplan for the neighborhood and its connections to the context. We work alongside the team’s architects and engineers to bring together the urban and territorial visions with general architectural and landscape guidelines to be followed by the private lots developers and design teams.
HBLA is particularly involved in the design of the neighborhood at every scale, from large public spaces to specific features.
